Welcome to DDL
Getting to the Truth
We are Deception Detection Lab Ltd (DDL) and everything our Team does
is designed to empower you and your organisation to experience
the significant benefits of 'Getting to the Truth'.

We achieve this for our clients by deploying industry standard methodologies in Forensic Statement & Linguistic Analysis (FSLA) and when used correctly, it can be 100% effective in highlighting areas of deception in both written and spoken words. For practical examples of our experts in action using FSLA, please see our range of Blogs below.
We are members of two Industry Bodies, namely the 'International Association for Forensic & Legal Linguistics' (IAFLL) and the 'International Investigative Interviewing Research Group' (iIIRG).

There is no other company in the UK doing what we do.
Improve your Due Diligence and Inform Your Strategy.

Here is a simple example of how FSLA works in practice.
Forensic Statement & Linguistic Analysis (FSLA) is a technique used to analyse verbal or written statements to identify potential indicators of truthfulness, deception, and/or hidden meanings.
FSLA is scientific – a formula which gives consistent results and uses only the subject’s own words.

For each Client, our Expert Team analyse the Audio/Visual Data provided using comprehensive security and advanced FSLA techniques combined with industry standard methodologies, leading to precise and valuable outcomes.
Our team then examine specific linguistic markers namely inconsistencies, lack of detail, or unexpected shifts in narrative to assess the credibility and completeness of a statement. The results of which can be applied in numerous contexts, including investigations, legal proceedings, business and in everyday communication, such as analysing letters and corporate communications.

"DDL is a powerful tool.
In the right hands, it’s a game-changer."
"It is my very great privilege to provide an endorsement in the strongest terms for the Deception Detection Lab Ltd (DDL). I was called upon by an Australian Federal Parliamentary Joint Inquiry into misconduct, and the active facilitation of tax evasion, by PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC). This scandal has engulfed the entire audit and assurance sector in Australia, and has attracted very close concern and legislative responses from the government, extensive media attention, both nationally and internationally, on-going criminal investigations, and two Parliamentary inquiries. My submissions and my testimony to the PJIC were reflected in a wholesale adoption of my recommendations. Central to the credibility of my submissions, and the impact they achieved, was the work of DDL. DDL analysed a statement made by PwC’s executives in response to the revelations of wrongdoing. DDL’s analysis was ground breaking — and fatal — for PwC’s case, and their attempted cover up. What little credibility they had left, was forensically demolished. DDL is a powerful tool. In the right hands, it’s a game-changer."
